Donald Spears

Donald Edward Spears, age 81, of Greenville, passed away in the late evening hours of Friday, September 19, 2010 at the Greenville Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Spears was born on June 24, 1929 in Border, Texas to Edward and Hattie Argo Spears, they preceded him in death. After graduation from high school Donald served in the Unites States Army during the Korean Conflict. He then went on to work and retired from the rigors of the oil fields. In retirement, Mr. Spears enjoyed traveling all over the United States and frequently spent time in Las Vegas passing the time gambling with his wife Vivian, she also preceded him in death. Those who knew Donald would best describe him as a quiet man who enjoyed his travels, basketball, and the Dallas Cowboys. Mr. Spears is survived by one son, Ronald Spears, and wife Debra, of Allen; one daughter, Mary Cara Smalley of Clarksville, TN; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by one son, Douglas Patterson Spears.
