Denise Leanna McCarty, a devoted mother, fiercely proud grandmother, and beloved member of her family and community, passed away on July 1, 2025, at Tyler Mother Francis Hospital, surrounded by love and cherished memories.
She was born on February 11, 1952, in California, to Dennis and Juanita Williams, who both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Trya.
She is survived by her loving sister, Carolyn Sue, and her brother, Eddie Williams, with whom she shared deep, lifelong bonds.
Denise was the proud mother of four children who brought immeasurable joy to her life: Kevin Harris; Kamay Flemens and husband Mike; Kyle McCarty and wife Lindsey; and Katie Jordan and husband James. She cherished each of them deeply and celebrated their accomplishments, their families, and the love they shared.
Her heart swelled with pride as her family grew. She was the adoring grandmother to Alex, Zoey, Hayden, Chloe, Jace, Aiden, Kyler, Jett, Avery, and Jala Kate — each grandchild holding a special place in her heart. Her joy expanded further with the arrival of her precious great-grandchildren, Emmalynn and Rowan, who brought another generation of warmth and light into her life.
Denise was deeply rooted in her Baptist faith, which was a cornerstone of her life. Her belief in God guided her through joy and hardship alike, and she found comfort and purpose in her spiritual walk. Her faith was not just a belief but a daily practice — one that shaped the way she loved, forgave, and persevered.
Those who knew Denise will remember her not only for her warm heart and steadfast devotion to family but also for her radiant beauty, which stayed with her even in her final days. Her beautiful skin — so often admired — was the last to fade, a final reflection of her grace and dignity.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and deep faith. Though her physical presence will be profoundly missed, her memory lives on in the stories shared, the values she instilled, and the family she cherished.
"Her greatest pride was her family. Her greatest legacy is the love they carry forward."
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Peerless Baptist Church on Saturday, July 5, at 10:00 a.m., with a potluck meal to follow. All who knew and loved Denise are invited to attend and share in remembering her beautiful life.
