Dale Hankin

Dale Hankin, a loving husband and father, of Celeste passed away at the age of 82 on July 26, 2018 in Greenville. Services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, July 30, 2018 at Peters Funeral Home with long time friend and Pastor Doug Stevens officiating. Internment will follow at Merit Cemetery with Seth Roberts, Nathan Styles, Jeremy Styles, Zachary Mitchell, Weston Smith, Joshua B. Bethel, Joshua T. Bethel, Clint Graham serving as pallbearers. A visitation will be Sunday, July 29 from 5:00 - 7:00pm at Peters Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Celeste Fire Department.

Dale was born on September 14, 1935 in Los Mochis, Sinaloa Mexico to John W. and Esperanza Beltran Hankin. He worked for Border Control as a Special Agent for the Justice Department. Dale married his wife, of 61 years, Melba Joy Elrod on November 3, 1956 in Yuma, Arizona. She survives.

Those also left to cherish his memory are daughters, Stephanie Gilmore and husband, Benjamin, Debra Styles and husband Rick, Karen Hurst and husband, Terry, and Jennifer Mitchell; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Hankin; sister, Laura Stanhope; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Lillian Burhop and Joan Havins.
