A Celebration of Life for CDR Lowell “Douglas” Felps USN Retired will be held at a later date at Miller Creek Cemetery in Johnson City, TX. Mr. Felps passed away on May 19, 2023 at Greenville Gardens in Greenville, TX.

· Douglas was born on December 16, 1939 in Johnson City, TX to Alton and Louise (Wiedebusch) Felps. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1962. He married Glenda Wickersham on December 30, 1965, in Grand Prairie, TX. Douglas was a career United States Navy officer and retired as a Commander. He then joined L3/Harris as a Program Manager and retired from there. He enjoyed deer hunting, archery, fishing and loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Glenda Felps (Greenville, TX.); daughter, Amy Cain (Norwich England; granddaughter, Taylor Cain (Norwich, England); sister, Patsy Maulding and her husband, Davis (Carrollton, TX.); brother, Dale Felps (Boerne, TX.); sister, Carla Felps Feller (Spring Hill, TN.) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Lowell was preceded in death by his mother, Louise (Wiedebusch) Felps; father, Alton Felps, and son, Lowell “Doug” Felps, Jr.
