Carolyn Sue Schumann, a beloved nurse and devoted family member, departed from this world on November 17, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on March 21, 1947, Carolyn dedicated over 50 years of her life to the nursing profession, embodying compassion and care in every role she played. Her passion for helping others was a guiding light, and her commitment to her patients was unwavering.

Beyond her professional achievements, Carolyn leaves behind a legacy filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Her family remembers her not only for her nurturing spirit but also for her vibrant personality that lit up any room. Carolyn was known for her hilarious nature, always bringing joy and laughter to those around her. A true diva at heart, she had a flair for style and made sure her hair was always perfectly coiffed. She was generous to a fault, embodying the spirit of sharing—if she had something you needed, you could be sure it was yours without hesitation.

Her fond memories often revolve around the simpler joys in life. Those precious moments at the lake, where she would humorously patrol the shores, blowing her whistle to round up loved ones, are etched in the hearts of her family. Carolyn cherished her time spent with her husband, Ricky Schumann, as they enjoyed fishing together and soaking in the beauty of nature.

Family was everything to Carolyn; she adored her grandchildren, Alexandrea, Alexys, and Allyse, and reveled in her role as a grandmother, celebrating every milestone in their lives. The birth of her great granddaughter, Leilani, brought her immense joy, and she embraced the role of great grandmother with open arms.

Carolyn's hobbies painted a picture of her joyous spirit. She was a passionate gardener, always tending to her plants with love and dedication. Feeding the birds added an extra layer of delight to her everyday life. When it came to shopping, Carolyn could never resist a clearance rack—her keen eye for a good deal was almost legendary among her family and friends. She also found solace in watching her soap operas, often getting lost in the dramatic tales unfolding on screen.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ricky Schumann, her sister, Linda Sparks, her sister-in-law, Jodie Owen, her children, Amy and Anthony, and her step-son, J.R. Schumann. Her memory will forever carry on in the hearts of her granddaughters, Alexandrea, Alexys, Allyse, and her great granddaughter, Leilani. Carolyn is also remembered by her dear niece Marti and nephew Scott.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her father Weldon Hare, her mother Johnnie Hare, and her siblings Joy Hare, Kathy Hare, and Jerry Hare. Each held a special place in her heart, and she is now reunited with them in eternal peace.
