Ancil Claude Hubbard, Jr, age 77, of Celeste, passed away late in the evening hours of Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman, Texas. Mr. Hubbard was born on July 10, 1930 to Ancil Claude Hubbard, Sr. and Ella Priscilla Hameric in Mineral Wells, Texas. After high school, A.C. served in the United States Navy. Upon discharge, he graduated from seminary and founded Beacon Baptist Church in Irving, Texas. Mr. Hubbard made a career and eventually retired as a paint and wallpaper contractor. A.C. was a man of many talents and skills. Throughout his life he was a soldier, an entrepreneur, a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He loved to build model planes, bowl, and fish. Some of his happiest hours were spent riding his tractor through the field and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Hubbard is survived by Cheryl K Hubbard; children, Sandra Warden, Earl Hubbard, Teresa Bellah, Jonathan Hubbard, and Melissa Williams; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday April 16, 2008, at Peters Funeral Home Chapel in Greenville, Texas. Inurnment will follow at 2 PM at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M, Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at the funeral home.
