A. Sims

A.J. Sims, age 92, of Caddo Mills, Texas passed away May 4, 2017 in Savoy, Texas. He was born December 17, 1924 to Malachi and Effie Alberta Harris Sims.

A.J. retired from Roadway Company. He loved to farm and garden in the spring and summer months, raising huge watermelons. But, his pride and joy was his grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings.

A.J. was married to Margie Ruth Sims and had two children, whom also survive him, daughter, Beckie Nafikov and her husband, Rush, of Caddo Mills, Texas; son, Zeb Sims and his wife, Ann, of Greenville, Texas. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Robert Nafikov, Brandon Nafikov, Michael Nafikov, Tawana Stovall, and Kevin Sims; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Cletus Sims.

Visitation will be 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M., Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Peters Funeral Home. Service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Peters Funeral Home Chapel, 4201 Wellington, Greenville, Texas 75401. Interment will follow in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Farmersville., Texas.
